The links to the left take you to the course requirements for the two
degrees offered by the Biology Department. The left and right sides of each sheet
represent the Freshman/Sophomore and Junior/Senior years respectively.
During the Freshman/Sophomore period you take courses in what the
University System refers to as the "Core". The core represents college
coursework considered to be basic knowledge for any liberally educated college
graduate. The core is divided into areas which are assigned a letter designation (A
thru F). Only in area F do you take courses specifically related to your major in
Biology.
In theory, classes you take in areas A thru E can be used for any major at
Columbus State University, but there are some exceptions so be careful.
Where no specific course number is listed it means you have several
courses to choose from to meet that particular requirement. There is a link at the
top of these pages and to the left that you can follow to find out what your choices are.
